EU Internet Project — Services for a better net

ve.ms

General Information

ve.ms is an EU-based project oriented toward a constructive evolution of the internet. We aim to offer a range of services that make the online experience a little smoother for users.

Among these is a take-down service that uses automated crawling to identify unsafe or non-compliant sites. We notify relevant ISPs and registries and support coordinated takedowns where appropriate. We also report common security issues to site operators before third parties take notice, so that fixes can be applied in good time.

We run honeypot infrastructure to help identify malicious systems and behaviour on the network. This work is part of our broader focus on a safer and more transparent internet.

We are working on offering the short domain as a freemail service (e.g. user@ve.ms) and as a free sub-TLD for various uses, including a dynamic DNS service. Progress on these depends on available capacity.

Our team is small, so many ideas move forward only gradually. We welcome input, suggestions, and practical help. If you would like to contribute or get in touch, you can reach us at contact2026@ve.ms. We are happy to support voluntary and non-commercial projects where we can.

Whether you are a developer, an operator, or simply someone who cares about how the internet is run — there are many ways to get involved. Drop us a line and we can see what makes sense.

Submit An Inquiry

For general questions, partnership ideas, or reports related to our services, please send an email to contact2026@ve.ms. We do our best to reply in due course.

Depending on the topic, we may forward your message to the right person or point you to documentation. If you are reporting a security issue or a site that should be reviewed, please include enough context so we can act on it. We do not guarantee a specific response time, but we read everything that comes in.

Cybersecurity

We operate infrastructure and processes aimed at improving the security posture of the internet. This includes automated detection of vulnerable or compromised sites, notification of operators, and collaboration with registries and ISPs where relevant. We also run honeypot systems to study and mitigate malicious activity.

Our approach is preventive where possible: we try to get issues fixed before they are exploited. That can mean reaching out to webmasters about outdated software, misconfigurations, or known vulnerabilities. In other cases we work with upstream providers to have clearly harmful resources taken offline. We do not disclose detailed methodology, but the overall goal is to reduce risk for everyday users and operators alike.

Webmailing

We are developing a freemail service on the ve.ms domain. The idea is to offer short, memorable addresses (e.g. yourname@ve.ms) for personal or light professional use. Availability and features will depend on capacity and rollout plans.

Such a service involves more than just mailboxes: we care about reliability, privacy, and keeping abuse under control. We are moving step by step and will publish further details here when we are ready to open sign-ups or a waiting list. If you have specific requirements or would like to contribute (e.g. code or operations experience), get in touch.

Dynamic DNS

Plans include a dynamic DNS service using the ve.ms namespace. This would allow users to associate a stable hostname with a changing IP address — useful for home servers, small labs, or remote access without a fixed IP.

We intend to keep the offering simple and free where possible, possibly tied to our sub-TLD service so that you can use something like mybox.something.ve.ms. Status and sign-up information will be updated on this site as the service progresses. If you have feedback or feature wishes, we are happy to hear them.

Sub-TLD Service

We intend to offer free sub-TLDs under ve.ms for various purposes, including personal or project use and integration with our dynamic DNS offering. Think of names like project.ve.ms or yourname.ve.ms — short, easy to remember, and under a domain we control and maintain.

Use cases could range from hobby sites and dev environments to small communities or tools that benefit from a stable subdomain. Terms and availability will be announced when the service is ready. We are still defining fair-use and abuse policies; if you have ideas or would like to help shape this, contact us.
